Cooperative Agreement for affiliated Partner with Hawaiʻi-Pacific Islands Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit

Geological Survey

Program description

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to characterize stable isotopes in mosquitoes collected in and around Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge (hereafter, Hakalau). Hakalau provides habitat for the most intact community of native Hawaiian birds remaining in Hawaiʻi, at least partly due to the lack of disease-carrying Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes (hereafter, Culex ) in the higher elevation portions of the refuge.

Eligibility

This financial assistance opportunity is being issued under a Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) Program. CESU's are partnerships that provide research, technical assistance, and education. Eligible recipients must be a participating partner of the Hawaiʻi-Pacific Islands Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit.
